Dogo Argentino Overview:
This breed has its origin in the province of Cordoba, in the central region of the Republic of Argentina.
Its creator was Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez, a (renowned) doctor and member of a traditional family.
In 1928s, his passion for dogs, led him to set the bases and a standard for a new dog breed which he named Dogo Argentino.
The Dogo Argentino descended from the Cordoba dog, a now extinct fighting dog.
Other breeds included in their development were the Great Dane, Great Pyrenees, Bulldog, Bull Terrier, and Dogue de Bordeaux.
The Dogo was developed to track game, corner it, and hold it in place until the hunters arrived.
The remarkable strength, amazing sense of smell, and bravery made him best to hunt wild boars, Pumas and Peccaries.
