After fighting Taotie, a wisp of its soul attaches to the Tian Ji Sword. Little White is injured by the sword protecting Zi Xuan. She feigns leaving to test his feelings but is taught not to test hearts. Seeing her cherish the peach blossom from the crane, Zi Xuan takes her to Penglai Immortal Mountain to see the peach blossoms. The crane thinks Zi Xuan is too indulgent. Green Emperor discovers Zi Xuan's primordial spirit was wounded by Taotie—actually Zi Xuan's deliberate act to delay ascension and stay at Jiuxi Mountain. Green Emperor questions if he has developed feelings and orders Little White to leave. Zi Xuan defies his master for the first time. Suffering nightly from his spirit wound, Ling Chu laments Little White is indeed his trial. Lishan Holy Mother gives an Ice Flower to aid recovery. Little White confesses her wish: to become a real human with a name. She wishes to stay with Zi Xuan as a human until she leaves. Learning East Sea Ice Heart Mushroom benefits Zi Xuan from the crane, Little White tries to steal it but accidentally releases the Black Flood Dragon from the alchemy room. The dragon disturbs West Lake's water source. Zi Xuan and Ling Chu go to capture it. Bound by immortal ropes, Little White begs the crane to release her to help Zi Xuan.
