Day Wave performs "Drag" live in East Austin for KUTX’s SXSW Pop-Up Session series.
Recorded during SXSW 2016, this intimate live session features members of Day Wave performing on the porch of a home in East Austin. The stripped-down setting captures a quieter side of the Oakland-born indie project, whose dreamy, guitar-driven sound helped Day Wave stand out among the wave of new artists breaking through in the mid-2010s.
This performance was part of KUTX’s SXSW Pop-Up Sessions, a series of live recordings filmed around Austin during the festival, bringing artists out of traditional venues and into more unexpected spaces across the city.
KUTX is a music discovery station spotlighting essential artists from Austin and beyond through intimate live sessions, interviews, and curated performances.
